We spent the past couple days covering our fields with silage tarps. These gigantic tarps (40 feet by 100 feet) will help warm up the soil and prevent weeds from growing. The boys really enjoyed helping us unroll the plastic. It was tricky getting the plastic to lay down in the right way, but with the help of 300 sandbags and some old tires we finally got everything down. Our fields are now ready for planting. Hopefully it will warm up soon!

Our land is slowly becoming a farm. The biggest transformation yet has been harrowing our fields! Our empty plot now has two half acre fields churned over. Each step is taking us closer and closer to restoring this empty property to working farmland again.

Welcome our newest addition to our farm. Our beloved Masey Ferguson joined us this past weekend weighing in at a solid 2767 lbs and 116.5 inches in length. We are excited to finally have something to put in our shed.

There is something exceptionally beautiful about beginnings. For me, it’s a blank page that’s just waiting to be filled up with a story. For my husband, it’s this: land. (which even I will admit is slightly more impressive than my blank word document.)   It’s a new beginning and adventure for our whole family and nothing is more fun than dreaming up what we could fill this beautiful earth with. My husband and I are leaning towards vegetables, while our boys are leaning towards a monster truck playground. So, while most people drive by our land and see just another empty field, for us it’s already full of possibilities and our dreams.
